Backyard Discovery swing set dimensions and safety zones

Short answer
Backyard Discovery's safe play areas run 29 to 33 ft long and 20 to 29 ft wide. Filling one with 12 in of wood chips takes 24 cubic yards for a Tucson up to 35 for a Skyfort III.

Every Backyard Discovery manual we read sets the safe play area 6'-7" (2 m) beyond the set on all sides, recommends a maximum of 150 lb per child (120 lb when children share a feature) and a maximum of 9 children, whatever the product page says.
How deep, and why the maker's zone may not be enough
Surfacing volumes cover the maker's safe play area at 12 in of wood chips (it settles to 9 in) or 8 in of rubber mulch (settles to 6 in), the depths CPSC's 2025 playground handbook uses. Both protect falls up to 10 ft, above every set here.
CPSC's home playground handbook also asks for swings to have clear space in front and behind of twice the height of the swing beam, which can reach past a maker's rectangle. Put your set into the playset safety zone calculator for the CPSC version, or plan your own with swing set plans.
