Rain Bird 1800 nozzle chart (MPR spray nozzles)
From Rain Bird's MPR performance chart. Tested on 4 in pop-ups in zero wind. Sprays work best at 30 psi; 1800 PRS bodies hold 30 psi at the nozzle.
Rain Bird's 1800 spray heads take MPR (matched precipitation rate) nozzles: the number is the radius in feet, the letter the arc. Quarter, half and full nozzles in one series put down the same inches an hour, so they share a zone. A full circle uses twice the water of a half and four times a quarter.

How to read it
gpm is what one nozzle uses: add them up for a zone and keep it under what your water supply gives (our pressure and flow test works that out). in/hr is how fast water lands when heads are spaced head to head, at 50% of the throw diameter: square is a grid, triangle is staggered rows. Min. for ½ in is how long a zone runs to put down half an inch at the square rate. For your own lawn, soil and watering days, use the sprinkler run time calculator.
Rain Bird 1800 bodies
Rain Bird rates the 1800 body for 15 to 70 psi and 2.5 to 24 ft spacing. The PRS model holds outlet pressure at 30 psi, "Spray nozzles perform best at 30psi." Rain Bird says not to turn a nozzle's radius down by more than 25%. Adjustable-arc nozzles are on the VAN nozzle chart.
