Installed prices per linear foot, as each guide publishes them. Gates and removal are added to the total above.
These are national published ranges. Labor rates, rocky soil, slopes and permits swing the real price a lot. Two or three local quotes will land inside or near them.
Find your property line before you build. A survey, or the pins at the corners, settles it. Check your town’s height limits and permit rules before you order.
How we work it out
We multiply your fence line by each guide's published installed price per linear foot, then add gates and taking out an old fence.
fence = linear feet × each guide's low and high price per foot
We only use figures the guide calls installed. Where a guide gives one price for all fences, we say so. Gates are Fixr's $50 to $400 each installed, and removal is Bob Vila's $3 to $5 a foot. Driveway gates, slopes, rock and permits cost more, so get local quotes.
